The Ferry Farm project is owned and run by a Community Interest Company (CIC), and a Community Benefit Society has been set up to distribute any profits from the project to local community groups. Please refer to the November 2016 article for full background information.
This community scheme is now forecast to deliver between £1m – £2m over 25 years to support community projects.
The first grants from the Community Solar Farm in Selsey have now been handed out. So far, awards have been made to :
Youth Dreams Selsey
- Supports children from Selsey Academy by providing counselling
Sidlesham Parish Council
- Children’s playground fencing
Sidlesham Community Bus
- Minibus for the elderly
Selsey Carpet Bowls Club
- Replacing bowls mats
- SACOS MusicalProductions
- Purpose is to bring musical theatre to Selsey and toencourage young people to participate
- Arts Dreams Selsey
- Project to retrace the records destroyed in the fire and create an online archive. It’s called Out Of The Ashes!
